Outpost

A small, early-stage military camp. Outposts provide limited utility and do not consume a settlement slot.

Requirements:

• At least 6 houses (tents are allowed)
• Palisade wall surrounding the camp
• Watchtower

Notes: Provides 1 building slot. Can only be constructed after the province has at least one Town.

Town

A medium-tier settlement used as the foundation for growth.

Requirements:

• At least 10 houses
• A food source
• A water source

Benefits: Provides 3 building slots.

City

A large, developed settlement with greater infrastructure.

Requirements:

• At least 14 houses
• A food source plus food storage
• A water source

Benefits: Provides 5 building slots.

Fort

A military stronghold built for province defense.

Requirements:

• Must be constructed after at least one Town exists in the province
• No mandatory structural blocks, but design should be defensible and well-crafted

Benefits: Provides 1 building slot.

Market

Cost: 2 building slots

Effect: Spawns a random trader whose trades are selected from a curated list. Trades are generally better than spawn trades and may include rare or useful items.

Resource Building

Cost: 2 building slots

Rules:

• Each province contains one mineable resource (e.g., Gold Mine, Iron Pit, Salt Works)
• The Resource Building must be located outside all walls and defensive structures
• Only one settlement in a province may use the province resource

Waystone

Cost: 1 building slot

Rules: The Waystone requires no physical construction (the Waystone itself counts as the structure). It is used for teleportation and is the only slot-building that does not require a physical build.

1. Finish building the settlement or fort to the desired state.
2. Create a ticket in the Discord and follow the inspection instructions provided by staff.
3. Staff will inspect the build for effort, layout, functionality, and theme. Staff may request changes.
4. If approved, the build receives official recognition and access to settlement benefits (building slots, resource access, trader spawns, etc.).

Staff may deny recognition if the build appears low-effort, rushed, empty, or lacks aesthetic or practical merit. This policy exists to prevent low-quality official towns, not to limit creative expression — players are encouraged to build thematically and with care.

Each province's unique resource may only be exploited by one settlement. The province's Lord decides which recognized settlement receives access to that resource. Other settlements may not construct Resource Buildings for the same resource.

This rule preserves strategic value and forces meaningful decisions about which settlement receives economic priority.

• If a province has 2 Towns and 1 Fort, it has reached the settlement and fort limits; additional Outposts are still allowed.
• Only one settlement may build on a province's unique resource; Lords should coordinate which settlement receives that privilege.
• Recognition is primarily aesthetic and administrative, but grants gameplay benefits (slots, traders, resource access).

1. Expansion — Claiming new land from another faction.
2. Civil War — Internal conflict within the same faction (initiated per internal rules).

Every province has a maximum of three battles required for full conquest. The sequence depends on province contents:

To conquer a province, the attacker must win all required battles.

1. Staff provide available time slots.
2. Each Lord submits preferred options.
3. Staff select the final date based on overall suitability; attackers receive slight priority.

Attacker Loss Truce: If attackers lose the war, a 1-week truce is enforced; attackers may not redeclare or attack during that week. Defenders may break the truce early by launching a counterattack; otherwise the truce stands.

• No gear restrictions: any obtainable equipment is allowed.
• After dying, you may not return to the battlefield.
• RP-appropriate gear encouraged but optional.
• Players are teleported to designated start positions.
• Battles end when one side is eliminated, one side retreats, or attackers hold the capture point uncontested for 15 minutes (sieges/forts). Staff may start timers for prolonged battles.

A. Field Battle

Open-area skirmishes without fixed objectives. Victory is achieved by wiping out or forcing the retreat of the enemy. Field Battles are the only type where third-partying is allowed; third parties may enter after 30 minutes. If a third party eliminates both sides, the battle ends in a draw (counts as a defender victory for the war).

B. Siege Battle

Sieges target settlements or forts. A staff-controlled arena copy of the settlement is used; the arena is enclosed to prevent interference. Defenders must protect a marked capture point. Attackers may receive TNT and ladders; attackers win by holding the point uncontested for 15 minutes.

Siege specifics: attackers may not manually break walls except palisades; defenders may sally out; one retreat zone exists behind the attacker start point.

• Attackers may place ladders and explosives only.
• Defenders may place wooden planks only (to patch holes); these are the only blocks attackers may break.
• Lava and water buckets are allowed.

At least 24 hours before a siege, staff inspect the settlement for excessive traps, impossible mechanics, or exploits. If issues are found, staff instruct the owner what must be changed. Failure to fix issues results in the siege being downgraded to a Field Battle.

House
A House is the primary political unit within a faction. Each House is ruled by a Lord. Settlements created by a House are owned and controlled by that House’s Lord. Houses compete for prestige, strength, and influence within the faction.

Faction
A Faction is the overarching group composed of all Houses and Free Agents. The first House to reach lordship is given the option to claim Rulership of the entire faction. Claiming rulership is only recommended if the House is strong enough to hold it.

Free Agents
Free Agents are players who are part of the faction but not members of any House. They may participate in wars but cannot engage in diplomacy or hold political power. They do not own or control settlements.

The King
The ruler of the faction — referred to as King — is the Lord of the House that successfully claimed kingship. The King has ultimate authority over alliances, declarations of war, colonization, all diplomatic relations with other factions, and internal governance.

The King may define any internal political system, including monarchy, democracy, dictatorship, council-based rule, or any custom structure. The King’s system governs how Houses interact, how decisions are made, and how internal power is distributed.

Disputing the King
If a House disagrees with the King’s rule, they may initiate a Civil War. A vote is called among all Lords; each Lord must choose a side. The vote result determines the sides in the conflict and ultimately the future leadership.

Alliances
Each faction may hold only one alliance at a time. Alliances are not restricted by race or lore. For allied forces to assist each other in battle, the allied territories must be geographically connected.

Military Access
Military Access allows another faction to move troops through your territory to assist in conflicts. This does not create an alliance, but it enables cooperation and movement across territory.

Non-Aggression Pacts (NAPs)
NAPs are enforced by the server. If a NAP is broken, a one-week enforced truce begins. During the truce, neither side may participate in battles against the other — even if involved in an allied war. This protects diplomatic stability and prevents immediate escalation after a breach.
